SOLUTION

When JP Morgan Chase & Co. enlisted public affairs agency GPG to manage the launch of their $250M initiative, MeanGreen was tapped to create a video for the high profile event. FILLING JOBS

CREATING PROSPERITY

Understanding the Skills Gap

So, what’s the Skills Gap? Good question! It’s the same one we asked as we began our Discovery Process. As we learned, firms in every sector of the economy face challenges finding workers with the right skills for a range of jobs. According to an analysis by the International Monetary Fund, the skills gap accounts for approximately one-third of the U.S. unemployment rate.

Meet Sally and Jack

To explain what the Skills Gap is and why people should care about it, GPG worked with MeanGreen to develop the story of Sally, a factory owner who needs to hire, and Jack, a worker with lots of experience, but lacking the skills Sally needs at her factory. For the story to work, the characters needed to be just right. And for the project to be delivered in time for the big launch, there was little time for trial and error.

Two characters.
Thousands of decisions.

Our team of illustrators and animators immediately got to work developing the personas of the main characters and overall look, feel, and design. Sketches, style frames, and storyboards were generated in rapid succession for review and approval by agency and client teams, with dozens of stakeholders weighing in on every detail from wardrobe and accessories to facial expressions and demographics.

It was a tough one, and you came through for us as you always do. We really appreciate all the hard work that went into this. You guys are true pros.

All Aboard!

With the group’s buy-in secured, our team was free to move forward with crafting the story. To deliver the completed video in just two weeks, animation, editing, sound design, and music composition were executed concurrently. From rough cut to fine cut to finished video, our proven production process ensured that client, agency and production teams remained in sync – avoiding that dreaded surprise ending.

PRODUCTION NOTES

With only 2 weeks to produce a video that would normally take 2 months, time was of the essence. In the end, we produced 37 unique scenes and 567 pieces of original artwork to bring Sally and Jack’s story to life.

FUN FACT

To emphasize Sally’s proletariat roots, we swapped her high heels and designer handbag for sensible flats and a conservative jacket.
